about

Sometimes every day life provides us with a parable. For example, you are dressed to exercise, you are walking to a running path. Along the way, strangers scold you for criticizing their failure to exercise? You smile, say nothing, and continue on your way.

As time passes, you run into the same strangers. The strangers now have physical ailments (e.g. struggle to walk). You say nothing, and continue on your way.

You can substitute that parable for the following. Folks you know, demonize poor people, for years. Those some folks then lose their job, lose their money and become poor.

This song ponders those parables.

lyrics

Now the days, fall like sand
Been for nothing, not even when
Saw you growing, so far away
Like a tool in my hand, heart pounds again

[ Chorus ]
Well I don’t know, what to say to you
After all of the things, we’ve been through

All that sorrow, just to pay
Souls so empty, shadows gray
Woke from a dream, late in the day
Knew I was there, holding you when

[ Chorus ]

Hope that they’re happy, gold set aside
Each year I’m told, they fell and they cried

[ Chorus ]

Everyone’s talking, like nothing’s there
Feel like a song, that’s stuck in your head
